Since 1983 the ministry team at Kateri House is engaged in

SPIRITUAL MINISTRY

We offer spiritual ministry primarily for individuals and families of First Nations communities, while we welcome everyone, regardless of race or religion. Our ministry includes

  • Collaborative ministry with the five parishes in Prince Albert to better serve the aboriginal families in those parishes
  • Sacramental preparation (baptism, confirmation, marriage, etc.)
  • Faith formation with individuals, families, and communities
  • Spiritual counseling support in healing from experiences of abuse
  • Advocacy and referral
  • Crisis support

SECOND HARVEST CIRCLE FOOD PROGRAM

  • A food sharing program for anyone in need of assistance
  • Donations of food come from individual families, churches, school food drives, and local businesses.
  • Designated donations of funds are also welcomed.

RESTORATIVE JUSTICE MINISTRY

  • Counseling support for men and women in conflict with the law
  • Personal and practical support for ex-offenders and their families
  • Assisting ex-offenders with re-integration after incarceration
  • Prison chaplaincy at Prince Albert Correctional Centre (for men)
  • Volunteer prison ministry at Saskatchewan Penitentiary (for men) and Riverbend Institution (minimum security prison facility for men)
  • Volunteer prison ministry at Pine Grove Correctional Centre (for women) when requested
